IWB Material for math classes

On this page, some links will be provided that offer good teaching material for math classes. All material linked to can of course be used on an interactive whiteboard.

The fisrt link refers to the program geogebra. It is a software tool that can be used in geometry lessons, for instance.By the help of this program, graphs, circles, etc. can be drawn. As the software is interactive, the pupils can move certain points and can immediately see what is happening. Of course, this program can be used on a normal pc, as well, but using it on an interactive whiteboard is the better option. If it is used on a whiteboard, the pupils do not have to follow the little pointer but can move objects with their own hands. The following link leads to the page where you can download the software for free.

The second link, or better to say the next two links, also refer to the programm geogebra. In this case, I would like to recommend two interactive worksheets that have been created with it. The first worksheet can be used to teach how to work with coordinate systems. The pupils can move the point they want to investigate to different locations and can use two additionally provided means to determine the coordinates of the point. The second worksheet can be used to practice how coordinates are marked in a coordinate system.

The next page I want to recommend can be visited by the following link: http://khstreiter.de/whiteboard.htm#eigsoftware This page offers a lot of teaching material that can be used on a smartboard. Especially the section "im Unterricht selbst erarbeitete und erprobte Notebook10-Lektionen für das SMART Board“ is heplful for math teachers. This page is not restricted to a single topic, but offers worhsheets for the different areas of maths. As the material is already tested, you do not have to be afraid that it will not work. Unfortunately, one has to use the smart notebook software to open the documents.

Another page where you can find helpful teaching material is the following one:
http://www.matlet.ch/new/?cmd=lstApplets&lang=de

On this page, you can find many applets that can be used in maths classrooms and that can be displayed on interactive whiteboards. The applets that are provided here can be used from class 3-10 depending on the topic. I think that this page can be recommended as it again provides material for lots of different topics. By the help of the interactive applets, the pupils might understand the mathematical concepts more easily.

Last but not least, I would like to recommend the officail smart page, as well. As you can already guess, this page belongs to the smart company. Here, you can find lots of different material that can be used for teaching math on an interactive whiteboard. For example, you can download backgrounds that have different lines or interactive worksheets to practice different mathematical topics. I guess that every teacher finds the material he or she needs on this page.
